Client Q&A Series- Cathy, TX

We have installed cabinets all across the United States and Canada. We are repeatedly fulfilling our clients exact needs and wishes. It's really fun to be part of making a space precisely what someone wants.

How did you hear about Baldhead Cabinet Company?
We had purchased Baldhead Cabinets 7 years ago for a smaller garage and loved the product.

Why did you choose Baldhead Cabinet Company?
We felt they had the absolute best option for garage cabinets and we liked made in America.

What is your favorite thing about your cabinets?
Everything!  They look great, are extremely functional, and we know they are quality.

How was your experience working with the team at Baldhead?
It was great from the start.  We worked with Peter on the design for several months.  He is very detail oriented and patient and offered great suggestions.  We were building a new 4800 square foot garage and wanted about 56 linear feet of cabinets.  The design was very important and the end result is perfect.  Once the order was placed, things happened fast.  The cabinets were delivered to our door and the following week Peter, Peter and Eric arrived for the install.  They had it unpacked and organized in a couple of hours on the day they arrived and then did an amazing job of getting everything assembled and installed the next day, working 11 hours straight with not even a break for lunch.  We had hundreds of pieces, maybe thousands if you count nuts and bolts, and they had packed so well they didn't have any missing parts.  They took 11 giant boxes off our garage floor and assembled them on our walls.  If we had tried to install ourselves, it would have been a disaster.  We know Baldhead is a great product and are already enjoying the clean lines, TV door, stainless sink, bin drawers, diamond backsplash, Boos Blocks counter tops (also made in America).  We highly recommend the crew and products at Baldhead.

New Baldhead Cabinets website launches!!

(If you don't want to read the article, click the link or image below to see our new website!)

In 2012 we decided to embark on an intense journey. We hired a local design firm to come in and help with a complete reworking of our website and overall messaging. Our site went live in 2013. We were so excited about the site and all the new bells and whistles it featured. It was a big monetary and emotional investment for all of us.

Fast forward a few short years and we begrudgingly realized how antiquated our site had already become. As such, we decided it was time for a complete redesign.

The new site launched on May 11th and we are pleased to invite the public to take a look!! We’d love to hear what you think!

Client Q&A Series- Jason, Iowa

I had the privilege of riding along on an install in Iowa in April. Pretty soon after we got back to the shop in Bend, Oregon I was able to catch up with the client to get his thoughts on Baldhead and his new custom metal cabinets. Please enjoy a couple images of his garage install and his thoughts on my questions.

How did you hear about Baldhead Cabinet Company?
Various auto magazines over the years!

Why did you choose Baldhead Cabinet Company?
The look, quality, and configurability of the cabinets.  I also like the fact it’s a family owned business.  There was a personal connection there due to me being in family business.  When I first connected with Eric I sensed the pride in the Baldhead product and brand.

What is your favorite thing about your cabinets?
I am thrilled with how uniform everything is.  The finishes, the feel of the doors and drawers, the levelness of the lines.  Everything looks high end and it makes my garage space feel so much cleaner and better organized.  I want to hang out in my garage now vs. wanting to look the other way!

How was your experience working with the team at Baldhead?
I had a great experience.  The design and quote process was smooth.  Eric helped me understand different nuances of the products as well as guided me on configurations.  He was always open to talking through areas, making revisions.  He also met deadlines and did what he said he’d do with respect to follow up items, the estimates were accurate, there was a genuine feel of good service and doing what he said he’d do.  There were also ZERO hidden costs.  The installation process was a 10 out of 10.  Initially I considered having our contractor install them.  While he more than likely would have done a fine job you guys have the installation down to the nth degree.  I didn’t have to do anything other than have the space ready.  Right down to trimming out the drywall to make the countertop flush.  You were courteous to me, my family and our property and left no mess behind.  From day one I have enjoyed working with your company.  Quite honestly, I’m proud to say I have Baldhead cabinets in my garage!

Any feedback you want to add?
Keep up the great work guys!  Awesome company…great product great people!

Cleaning the Garage

Cleaning the garage for something better

The vast majority of people would be a little bit embarrassed if their guests ask them to look in their garage. Even though “garage” is a term used to describe a shed or building used for housing a motor vehicle (or several motor vehicles), most people use them as space where they store or simply pile up holiday decorations, unfinished projects, unused equipment and many other items that they actually don’t need. According to the US Department of Energy, 4 out of 10 households that have two-car garages don’t have enough room to park vehicles inside them and more than 30% have room for one vehicle although the garage has capacity for two vehicles. Even if there is enough room, the rest of the garage is messy and cluttered with useless stuff. On the other hand, if everything is fine your garage can be used for many useful things not just for housing your car. In order to solve this problem, you will need to clean and keep this place organized.

If your garage is cluttered, you must make a good plan. It is very difficult to determine the amount of time you will need for this cleaning, so add a few days to your initial plan in any case. At this point, you should also take a close look at the offers from junk removal service providers in your area because it is very likely that some of the items will have to be thrown away.

This process starts with removing everything from the garage in your yard. You need to empty the garage. Don’t hesitate to remove the items that seem to belong in the garage naturally because you are not just cleaning the garage, but you are also trying to make better organization.

The next step is to check and determine which items will stay and which items will be trashed or donated. If you don’t want it, have more than one of the same item, or it doesn’t serve a purpose, get rid of it. There are many junk removal services that will help you with the donations, so you can just separate the items into two groups – the ones you need and the one that need to go away from your garage and home.

Now it’s time to sort your things. When the trash is collected, you need to decide which items can go back in the garage and which ones should be stored in other places. As you sort, create categories. Don’t heap all the things you want to keep in a big pile but instead sort them into piles as you go.

If you don’t organize things well, you will soon experience the same problems with clutter and confusion. Start by organizing the piles you created in the ‘sort’ stage. Once you are settled on what you're keeping, think about the most efficient way to store those things. This is why it is a good idea to store items in designated areas instead of creating piles. One way to do this is to use a good bin, shelving, or cabinet system. Cabinets come in different dimensions and they are suitable for storing almost any kind of items. With their help you can easily calculate space and use you have for said cabinets.

We hope that these tips will help you keep your garage tidy and use it for its primary purpose.
